This is awkward I say quietly to myself as I mount the small pony. I wonder if they thought about my 5'8 height before they assigned me to yah, little guy I say as I walk, trot, and canter around the ring a little bit, warming up the gelding before we start. I had set up a few jumps ranging from 1'6 to 3'. I bring Bubbles to a halt and take a deep breath. Come on boy I say as I send him into a calm canter toward the first jump. He goes over it easily. Good boy! I say when he lands and carries on towards the next jump. He does perfect for every jump, all the way to the end. I go over the course a few more times. When I'm done, I reach down and give him a pat on his neck. Time to cool off Bubbles I tell the pony. I walk him around the ring until his temperature goes down. When it does go down, I dismount and throw a light rug over his body and start leading him to the barn. I wish I had you when I was a kid. But instead I had this mean old Connemara named Joe. I say to Bubbles as I move over to let someone lead a giant thoroughbred by without squishing us. Joe had the beautiful looks, but was as mean as the devil. I say as we finally get to Bubbles stall. I untack the small pony and groom him real quick. After I make sure Bubbles is safe and sound, I go put up the tack and put the jumps back where I got them. Now on to horse number two. I say as I head on to the next horses stall.

After I set up the jumps, I walk over and mount the small gelding. I let out a sigh as I start warming him up. Great job Bubbles! Now on to the real work I tell the pony as I turn him towards the first jump. We head towards the jump at the perfect speed, and sail over it with with ease. Beautiful I say as we carry on with the course. After a while, I can tell that Bubbles is starting to get tired. So I walk him around, cooling the gelding off. After a while, I throw a light blanket over his back and we start making our way towards the barn. On our way there, we talk. Well, I'm the one who does the talking while Bubbles, I want to say listens. I tell him everything I can think of, from the weather to what he had for breakfast. When we do get to the barn, I continue on with the routine. First taking of the blanket and tack, then grooming, and Finally I say a quick goodbye before I leave to go clean up. See ya! I'll come bye later to check on you! I tell him before I head over to the indoor ring to clean up.
