The Horse Dealer is a sketchy man who sells horses that you can't get from town. He himself doesn't breed them but obtains them from unknown sources. Most of his animals are incredibly expensive. Before buying from the Horse Dealer, there are some things you ought to know: - As he gets the horses from unknown origins, no information about their background or former training is available.
- The horses are sold sight unseen, so you won't know their personalities until after you buy them.
- He randomly gets different breeds and keeps them for erratic periods of time.
- The longest the Horse Dealer will ever keep a horse for is one month. Afterwards, the horse will be offered to NYRS and Saunders Ranch. If neither take it, the horse will be sent off, possibly to be never seen again.
- Most of the horses are untrained, though there may be a few diamonds in the rough which have been trained, showed, and placed well that ended up with the dealer by chance. You won't find this out until you test the horse by riding him in that discipline.
- Although the horses' personalities are unknown until after your purchase, their conformation and breed are guaranteed and they can be used to start up breeding programs.
- A vast majority of the Horse Dealer's horses are ill, due to the sources he gets them from. Be prepared to spend a lot of money upon obtaining the horse, first for a vet check and potentially for vet fees.
- The owners of NYRS and Saunders Ranch can only purchase a horse after the 30-day-period is up.
Good luck finding the perfect horse!
