Welcome to high school! We hope you'll find your time here to be enjoyable. Here we have included information to help you better understand the way this school operates. Please read all of the information and rules before applying.
- Grade Level
In general, the age ranges for each grade are as follows: freshman - 14-15, sophomore - 15-16, junior - 16-17, senior - 17-18. However, there may be exceptions if a student has been held back or has skipped a grade. If you are unsure, please message me! - Grades
Don't worry, grades are not a part of this school. It is participation only, so no need for stressing! If you would strongly prefer that your character receive a report card, message me and I will set something up for you. - Electives
A student has two spots for electives in his or her schedule. In the student's freshman year, one of these electives is required to be physical education; in the following years, a student may pick any two electives, give up one to have another class, or not take a second elective at all and be allowed to leave the campus for the duration of that class period. The following electives are available: chorus, chambers, drama, centre stage, band, orchestra, art, photography, and physical education. Chambers is, in a way, "honors chorus." It is a talented group made up of eight of the best singers in the school and an audition is required to be a part of it. For the auditions, the most active members and those with the highest level of writing will be accepted. Chambers members generally have more concerts than the big chorus group and these concerts often take them out-of-state; once every two years, chambers has the opportunity to perform overseas. To be a part of chambers, a student must have already been at school for at least one year and have taken chorus one year. Centre stage is the same basic idea as chambers. It is an elite group of the most talented actors and actresses in the school and generally is the head of the school's performances. Auditions are required to be a part of it and they work the same way as with chambers. Their shows also often take them out-of-state. To be a part of centre stage, a student must have attended the school for at least one year and been in drama for one year. Centre stage is also responsible for determining the spring musical and are more likely to play the leads in that show. While students in other electives are not required to post their actions in their elective classes, those in chambers and centre stage must post in their elective classes at least once every two days. - Credits
A certain number of credits must be accumulated in order to graduate from high school. If a student does not attain the minimum number of credits, he or she will need to repeat the year. The list of required classes is located below the rules. Credits are on a per-semester basis. - Homework
As this is a school, homework will be given and will be expected to be completed. Failure to complete the homework within a week will be marked and required to be made up; if one does not complete his or her homework within a week five times, refusing to make it up, that person will be required to complete the grade. However, don't worry; the homework is exceptionally simple and a class can only assign a maximum of five problems per week. Homework is to be "turned in" under the homework topic for that subject. Homework assignments will be posted there as well. - Schedules
The school uses traditional schedules, meaning that the student has their class every day for fifty minutes. There are a total of six classes each day, two of which are electives. After fourth period is lunch, which is also fifty minutes long. - Exams
At the end of each year are exams, which each student is required to complete. These exams are only slightly harder than homework problems, but they are graded and failure will require the student to repeat that class. The exams will be sent out to students via PM and must be answered in a reply to that PM. Any cheating will result in a failed exam. - Dropping Out
In compliance with Alabama's state laws, a student must attend high school until the student is at least sixteen. However, if you choose to drop out of high school, it is imperative that you understand that certain jobs requiring a higher education, such as a veterinarian, will not be available to you. The only jobs you may apply for if you drop out are exercise rider and groom.
School Rules
