.Something New.
Show Name: Something New Barn Name: Newbie Breed: Thoroughbred Height: 16.1 Gender: Gelding Age: 10 Color: Bay Markings: Star and back right coronet Disciplines: English - Showjumping 7' Personality: Newbie is a grouchy old horse now who honestly just seems to just be out to get the world. A lot of it likely stems from pent-up frustration, but there's little anyone can do to fix it for him. His biggest show of affection is not biting someone, which is a shame because he used to be such a sweet horse. History: Newbie was Dylan's personal horse during his competition days, and was the horse he was riding during the accident. Naturally, Newbie was hurt as well; his leg snapped clean in half and shattered at the break. Dylan couldn't let him be put to sleep, knowing that there was a way to fix him, so Newbie had several surgeries to repair his leg and went through physical therapy to help him regain the use of it. He's unable to be ridden now but his leg works fine, which is difficult for Dylan to endure, as he knows that a lot of Newbie's frustration and crabbiness is really bitterness because he can no longer do what he loved to do -- jump. Owner: Dylan Smith

Dylan approached Newbie's field slowly, head held high as always, feed bucket swinging in his hand. The horse was approximately halfway between the two ends of the pasture, so Dylan would more than likely be able to slip in and out before Newbie hobbled over to him and attempted to nip him on the arm. Today, however, he didn't feel like scurrying out of the pasture. Instead, he leaned over on the fence and watched Newbie sadly as the thoriughbred stumbled across the pasture to see him with his ears pinned. "He-y, bud, don't be like that," Dylan warned him, gritting his teeth as his horse snaked his neck out at him before turning and eating his feed. Dylan sighed again, but not before taking a warning step towards Newbie, causing the horse to jerk his head up. "Cut it out," he growled as he walked away.
